Web Content Strategist – Washington, DC

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and proficient at the management of web content in an efficient and effective manner.  Content Creators, Digital Marketing Specialists and Web Developers who have content development experience – please apply! Experience with UX research and interface design is a plus. You will be working directly with our team on the client’s Washington DC metro accessible site. We are seeking a mid-level strategist with 3-6 years of experience as described in responsibilities and skills below.  This is a full-time role with U Group.

What You’ll Do

Effectively work with stakeholders, clients and colleagues to create effective content, to drive our client’s mission. Our client seeks to develop web content and information collections that communicate key messages clearly and effectively via digital marketing.  Specific responsibilities to include:

  • Provide  user experience design, usability testing, and systems documentation support to the digital assets, including the public-facing web site, as well as internal software tools
  • Develop, enhance and maintain web content
  • Meet with the Application Development Team and content contributors to develop and discuss strategies and plans for web products, to analyze web content needs, and to propose ways the web products can address those needs
  • Support the management and development of cllient’s website

What It Takes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience managing content for a website CMS (preferred Wagtail or Django)
  • Ability to think broadly and strategically about web content and how it can be used by the end-user
  • Experience implementing good search engine optimization (SEO) practices, interpreting user research and site analytics, and conducting audits to inform content needs
  • Strong collaboration across platform teams
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and SCRUM
  • Demonstrated experience creating and/or maintaining site-wide content strategy guidelines and documentation (i.e. library of content templates).
  • Clear and effective custom approaches for individual stakeholders
  • Strong critical thinking with the capacity for understanding nuanced content
  • Understanding of user personas and content types and how to effectively utilize them
