Also during the meeting, several LIS students were inducted into the Beta Phi Mu Honor Society. Congratulations to Vicky and all the newly-inducted members of the honor society.

The keynote speaker was LIS Adjunct Mark Dimunation, who is the Rare Book & Special Collections Division Chief at the Library of Congress.

The Iota Chapter’s new officers for  2017-2018 were also announced:

President: J. Jasmine Chmiel
Vice President/President-Elect: Nicholas Brown
Treasurer: Emily Wagner
Secretary: Christopher Needham
Past President: Jamie Roberts
Director: Rivka Yerushalmi

Inductees at BPMNote the chapter has decided to add an all-purpose board member position, titled “Director.” The director will not only serve on the board, but also will replace any board member who has to step down due to unforeseen circumstances. Last year the secretary moved across the country for a wonderful job opportunity, leaving her position vacant for the remainder of the term. The Director will attend board meetings, but also chip in as needed.
