You will serve as a Technical Information Specialist with duties as a representative and database administrator for the Library online database system acting with little to no oversight as a subject matter expert on all library related systems, to include: OCLC, Workflow, Lexis/Nexis, SharePoint, FEDLINK, milSuite, and others as identified. This position is located in Suitland, MD in the OFFICE OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE.
- You will serve as project leader for developing new or enhanced systems for the delivery of technical information.
- You will work with information specialists to develop gateway systems providing single access paths for authorized users to numerous secure and non-secure research and development databases.
- You will access outside reference sources, including multiple electronic databases when information is not available in the collection.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties such as: 1) Developing and/or researching information products (e.g.,databases), identification and evaluation of new information sources and tools (e.g., databases, software packages, networks), and developing new methods of organizing and disseminating information, such as developing gateways to specialized databases); 2) Working with customers to determine library service requirements and acquiring information through procurement process to fulfill those requirements; 3) Providing subject-area reference services and information searches for customers by performing complex searches in response to specific requests, locating and selecting information from a broad range of current and retrospective resources, and analyzing results.
