Come join the CUA SLIS Alumni Board in celebrating the honoring of one of our own!

Each year, the Alumni Association of The Catholic University of America honors exemplary CUA alumni from a variety of academic backgrounds and professions at the Alumni Awards Celebration. This year, on Saturday, April 13, 2013, CUA alumna Lea Uhre, M.S.L.S. 2002, will receive an Alumni Achievement Award. We hope you will join us to congratulate all of the honorees and hear Lea’s story firsthand.

After working for six federal agencies and various offices on Capitol Hill, Uhre’s most recent position was library director, Executive Office of the President Library (EOP), supervising a staff of 13. Additionally, she organized and maintained the EOP historical archive and created a historical preservation committee to assist in the presentation of historical exhibits within the EOP. In 2011, she was awarded the Von Dran Award by the CUA School of Library and Information Science Alumni Board for her leadership in innovation and outreach with the library. She received her B.A. in political science and French from Miami University in Ohio. Lea recently retired and is engaged in private consulting in Potomac, Md.
