January is a great time to look for a library job. According to Naomi House, the number of visitors to INALJ.com drops dramatically in January, and picks up again in July, while the number of LIS jobs available remains relatively constant. As the founder of the largest LIS job repository, Naomi has an extensive professional network and a great deal of perspective about successful job-search strategies.
Your student chapter of the Special Libraries Association is pleased to sponsor an upcoming job-hunting/resume review workshop featuring an introductory keynote from Naomi about how to tailor resumes and cover letters as you begin (or resume) your library job search. This event will give students the opportunity to meet in small groups with hiring managers from around the area who have volunteered to give advice on applying with their respective employers.
Come enjoy breakfast and lunch, and register for 45-minute resume review sessions with the librarian(s) of your choice.
