LIS School Library Media (SLM) Practicum Coordinator, Ms. Nancy Silcox’s new book

LIS School Library Media (SLM) Practicum Coordinator, Ms. Nancy Silcox, will be talking about Samuel Wilbert Tucker (1913-1990) and the book she wrote for young readers called Samuel Wilbert Tucker: the Story of a Civil Rights Trailblazer and the 1939 Alexandria Library Sit-in at 2pm on Feb. 9, Sunday, at the Beatley Library in Alexandria. This is the first book about Tucker and the only one for young readers. Until now Tucker has been largely an unsung hero of the early civil rights struggle.
