• Manage all Support Services Department operations and staff in the following areas: Information Technology, Collection Management, Technical Services (Acquisitions, Cataloging, and Processing), and Technology Support
• Lead the development of new initiatives, including the development and application of new technologies and services with a forthcoming new Tech/Bookmobile and four 3D Printers
• Coordinate with a progressive and collaborative City IT Department to accomplish community-wide goals
• Grow our ability to meet the technological needs of the community
Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or closely related field and 3 to 5 years of library experience involving information technology/technical services and some supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
$49,198 – $81,983
Must possess state Library certification.
Requires a valid driver’s license.
This position will close Thursday, July 9, 2015.

Suffolk Public Library is one of ten libraries selected to participate in the 18-month Libraries Transforming Communities initiative, is about to begin the design and master planning process for a new downtown library, and is implementing a strategic plan in collaboration with a supportive and progressive city government and community.
