As the instructor for LSC 641 – Collection Development, I am happy to invite you to participate in a Knowledge Cafe with collection development professionals on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 12:30 – 3:00 pm. The class will be held in room 305, Columbus School of Law, on the campus of the Catholic University of America.
This Knowledge Cafe will feature three professional librarians with Collection Development responsibilities in their jobs. Our guests this weekend will be:
– Kim Hoffman is the Coordinator of Scholarly Communications and subject librarian for Engineering, Physics, Math, and Chemistry for CUA Libraries.
– Elissa Miller is the Associate Director for Collections for the District of Columbia Public Library.
– Marla Chesler is an Acquisitions Librarian for the U.S. Department of Justice.
The class will be divided into three groups, each group will have about 15-20 minutes with each guest in a small group to ask them questions about their positions, their training, and their perspectives on some of the challenges they face in their work.
If you plan on attending this session, please send an e-mail to me at email@example.com so that I can plan for the number of attendees we will have.
