Dr Choi and Dr Syn present at ASIS&T

Associate Professor and Associate Dean Dr. Young Ok Choi and Assistant Professor Dr. Sue Yeon Syn presented a research poster at the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD on October 29, 2012. The poster presented a study on user tags describing digitized collections in the humanities domain and discussed the potential benefits of user tags. The research investigated the tag sets from NINES system and identified the tag categories to understand users’ information needs in the humanities. Moreover, the analysis of the results demonstrated the potential improvements that user generated tags for resource description could bring to digital collections in the humanities.
