THE POSITION: Nimitz Library, U.S. Naval Academy, is seeking a dynamic,
tech-savvy Reference and Instruction Librarian with a science or
engineering background to serve as library liaison for the Center for
Cyber Security Studies, cyber and related STEM disciplines. The main
responsibilities of the Cyber /STEM Librarian include: planning, teaching
and assessing information literacy sessions, providing in-person, by phone,
and virtual research assistance, and serving as subject specialist for the
Center, the Cyber Operations major and assigned STEM disciplines. With the
increasing emphasis on cyber warfare education at USNA, the Cyber/STEM
Librarian will have an important role in ensuring library support and
providing outreach to the Center and to faculty and midshipmen in Cyber
Operations and related academic programs. The incumbent in this General
Schedule (GS grade 9/GS grade 11) position reports to the Head of Reference
and Instruction and works closely with colleagues in the ongoing
development of Nimitz Library as an exemplary 21st-century academic library.
