This position will work with the Thompson Gray Congressional Analysis Team to provide off-site support to U.S. army program offices and commands, acting as their eyes and ears on Congress. Duties will include: covering congressional committee hearings and issuing summary articles on those proceedings; analyzing annual authorization and appropriations language and funding marks to breakdown content impacting the customer; maintaining a congressional database with Member of Congress bios, speeches, and press releases; and monitoring House and Senate floor proceedings. While carrying out their duties, the employee will learn more about the personalities, structures, norms, and policies of both the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in political science or a related field, as well as some Capitol Hill experience, and be eligible to receive a SECRET security clearance.
