Barry Trott (MSLS 1997) has been elected Vice-President/President-Elect of the American Library Association’s Reference and User Services Association (RUSA).

Bruce Rosenstein (MSLS 1987) authored a new book, Living in More Than One World: How Peter Drucker’s Wisdom Can Inspire and Transform Your Life, published August 1 by Berrett-Koehler. Learn more about the book, and see a free excerpt, at http://www.brucerosenstein.com/book.html

Bruce also wrote a guest post for the Government Info Pro blog, http://www.governmentinfopro.com/federal_info_pro/2009/07/how-a-new-businessselfdevelopment-book-had-its-genesis-in-a-library-school-class.html about how the seeds of the book were planted when Bruce was a CUA SLIS student in 1986.
Louis Abramovitz (MSLS 2005) recently authored an article for legal marketing professionals about Web productivity tools. “Information Wants to Be Free (Well, Sort of…)” was published in the July 2009 issue of Strategies: The Journal of Legal Marketing. Nancy Matthes (MSLS 1999) earned a Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential during Summer 2009 from the The American Society of Association Executives.  More than 3,500 association professionals currently hold the CAE credential, the highest professional credential in the association industry. To earn it, applicants must have 75 hours of professional development, pass a stringent examination, and pledge to uphold a code of ethics. To maintain it, individuals are required to continue  their professional development.
