Job Description: To be a Reference Librarian at Howard University School of Law is to play an active part in a great institution dedicated to the cause of human rights and social justice. You’ll help educate future lawyers as a classroom instructor, reference provider and research professional. You’ll collaborate with faculty and students in their search for solutions to legal and social issues here and abroad. You’ll work in an innovative and rewarding environment, in an attractive library facility. You will be a member of a welcoming, dedicated group of library co-workers in a vibrant, appreciative law school community.

 

Job Duties Include: Participate in faculty-librarian liaison program; teach classes for first year legal research lab program and as a guest lecturer in a variety of class sessions; develop and write educational resources, such as research guides, programs, articles and web pages; play a leadership role in the library’s Public Services Department; staff the reference desk as needed.

 

Job Requirements: Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA (American Library Association) accredited institution; extensive legal research experience; excellent communications skills; creativity and enthusiasm. J.D. preferred.
