Nancy Noyes Silcox, the CatholicU LIS SLM Practicum Coordinator, will speak at the Virginia Council for Social Studies conference November 2nd and the Virginia Association of School Librarians’ conference November 29th on the topic of “Recommended Reading by Virginia Librarians for Middle Grade Social Studies.” Nancy and her collaborating partner, Stonewall Middle School librarian, Linda Mitchell, will book talk outstanding fiction and nonfiction titles to use in U.S. history instruction on World War II, immigration, civil rights, the Vietnam War, refugees, and recent current events.
