Cynthia Adams Hoover, Emeritus Curator of Musical Instruments at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History is looking for help organizing an archive of her late husband’s printed ephemera collection. The collection would be of particular interest to anyone interested in letter press printing, The American Print History Association, or someone keen to gain experience with a organizing a printed ephemera collection.
The hours are flexible — one or two visits a week for a few hours at a time as you can fit it into your schedule, and even that isn’t very rigid. Archival supplies have already been purchased, a skeleton structure for retrieval has been set-up using google sheets, and the collection is clean and relatively organized. We’re hoping to find someone who has the time to dedicate to the project. Pay is $15/hr. The location is Bethesda, MD. You will need your own transportation, laptop, and something with which to take photographs (an iPhone works great).
If this sounds like something you might be interested in helping with, please send an e-mail to Marianna Stell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
