Paid Spring Internship with the US Naval Observatory Library – Washington, DC

The US Naval Observatory Library welcomes MLIS student applications for a part-time internship beginning in early 2020. Our beautiful library holds one of the largest astronomical collections in the country and supports the work of scientists working in navigation, precise time, and astronomy. Our holdings include monographic, archival, and object collections dating from the 1400s to today. The Library is currently recruiting two part-time interns for the Spring semester to work with various aspects of librarianship. The prospective interns will assist in developing a hierarchical archival series for 19th century manuscript material, including observation books and correspondence. Interns will also gain valuable experience in collection management and design.

Please submit a cover letter and resume to Morgan Aronson at morgan.aronson.ctr@navy.mil by November 15th. Questions are welcome via email. Scheduling is flexible. Applicants must students enrolled during the spring semester.
