Dr. Scott Lee (MSLS 1997), Information Competency Librarian at Antelope Valley College, has a book chapter coming out next month in The Machiavellian Librarian. The specific chapter he co-wrote (“Taming the bureaucratic beast, or: how we learned to stop stressing and take control of accreditation”) deals with his library’s use of the accreditation process to secure funding for his library’s databases. Dave Davis (MSLS 1982) has more than twenty years of experience in content and intellectual property management. Dave joined Copyright Clearance Center after holding directorships at four libraries. At CCC, he initiated an early digital rights permissioning service, Electronic Course Content Service (ECCS). He is currently responsible for tracking, monitoring and evaluating trends in the management, protection and distribution of digital content. He has published several articles on rights management, and other topics, and delivered presentations to SLA, ALA, NFAIS, and other library and information science organizations. Dave holds two Master’s degrees, one of which is in library science and the other in medieval history, both from CUA (1982).
