The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School is seeking candidates to fill the position of Long Term Substitute for the Upper School Assistant Library Media Specialist (grades 6-12) for the period of August 15, 2019, to November 27, 2019.
The Assistant Library Media Specialist will assist the Upper School Library Media Specialist to provide leadership and expertise to align the Upper School Library Media program with the mission and goals of the school, making it a key part of learning and instruction.
The ideal candidate will excel in teaching the effective and ethical use of ideas and information at both the middle and high school level. S/he will be adept at emerging instructional, information, and research technologies, and will collaborate with teachers to foster skilled and enthusiastic research experiences across subjects.
A master’s degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association, experience in a school media center environment, completion of a teacher preparation program and/or educational degree, and state certification in school library media are preferred but not required.
