Fastcase is seeking an unpaid intern interested in working in a digital library environment for the summer semester. See our main webpage, www.fastcase.com, for a description of our company. The intern would be supervised by Erin Page, Esq. MLIS, a graduate of the Catholic MLIS program and the Senior Law Librarians and Research Attorney for the Fastcase Outreach team. Below are the projects we hope to have the intern’s participation with.
The intern would learn about basic competitive intelligence and information gathering as a part of the preparation for the annual Fastcase 50 awards for technology innovation in the practice of law. Duties would include nomination of candidates, creation of short biographical notes, and curation of the Fastcase 50 website.
Fastcase is preparing to launch a new educational website with materials for teaching Fastcase to attorneys, law librarians, paralegals, and criminal justice majors. The intern would participate in the creation of powerpoint presentations, videos, handouts, interactive games, and other teaching materials.
The intern would be able to see a lively reference desk answering research questions from across the country and would have opportunities to participate in smaller projects related to the reference team’s needs. The office is open from 8AM-8PM EST M-F, so we can accommodate a wide range of schedules.
