On Wednesday May 22, 2019, LIS Student Khulud Khudur was awarded the “School Mental Health Champion 2019” at the 4th Annual Partner Appreciation Reception for Mary’s Center School Based Mental Health (MC SBMH).

Mary’s Center presented Khulud the award for being a partner with Mary’s Center where she collaborated with Amelia Aburn (Mental Health Therapist at H.D. Cooke ES) and provided the library as a meeting place for therapy.

Khulud received this award for all of her dedication to the students’ overall wellness and has worked hard to place the mental health and well-being of the students first – often going above and beyond to integrate mindfulness, techniques for building coping skills, and creating a nurturing space for the kids in the library.
