- Knowledge of computer networks and computer applications normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related area and at least one year of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training that has provided the knowledge, abilities, and skills listed in the job description.
- Requires knowledge of and demonstrated ability to work with: the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking; experience installing and administrating common TCP/IP-based networks and services; network monitoring and security utilities; knowledge of Microsoft operating systems to include Windows 2008/2003 Servers, Windows 7, XP & 2000; thorough knowledge of the LAMP stack; knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity applications; and skill in help desk activities.
This is highly skilled, technical and professional work in the administration, operation and maintenance of the Library’s IT network and related systems. The Network Systems Specialist is responsible for administration, maintenance and support of the library’s network; customer service for network related issues; IT project support; and assisting the Library Hardware/Software Specialists in the maintenance of the Library’s desktop infrastructure.
Tentative start date will be early April.
