Emily Wagner and Nicholas Brown named Students of the Year

The Department of Library and Information Science is pleased to announce that Nicholas Brown and Emily Wagner have been named Students of the Year for the 2016-2017 Graduation Class.  The LIS Department emphasizes the values of collaboration, community, innovation, and excellence, and both students exemplify those values. In addition to their excellent academic performance, both students demonstrate outstanding service leadership. As the president of AGLISS, Emily Wagner worked with fellow AGLISS officers to give LIS students a sense of community by organizing networking and educational events and publishing newsletters. As a Music Specialist/Concert producer at the Library of Congress, Nicholas Brown utilizes his training to promote the Library of Congress’ mission and collections by bringing new users into the institution and reaching a wider, more diverse international audience through digital platforms.

We wish you each success in your professional careers. Nick is continuing in his position at the Library of Congress, where he recently co-produced Bibliodiscotheque series.  Emily is now  the American Library Association’s Information Manager in the Washington Office.

Congratulations, Nick and Emily!
