DIGITAL ASSETS MANAGER
The Sherman Cohn Library at the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) in Laurel, MD is seeking a personable, dedicated, technology-savvy, customer-service oriented individual to work as a Digital Assets Manager at the Sherman Cohn Library. This is a hands-on position responsible for managing all of the Library’s online and print subscriptions, serving as the University’s Copyright Officer, and developing and maintaining the Library’s digital repository.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Brokering and managing all print, ebook, and ejournal subscriptions and licensing agreements solo or in conjunction with the Library’s consortia affiliates
- Insuring patron access to the full text of ebooks and ejournals through the Library’s Sierra online catalog
- Interlinking and maintaining patron access to the Library’s electronic book and journal holdings across multiple platforms (such as EBSCO, the Online Catalog, PubMed, and others)
- Training Library Staff to access online subscriptions and keeping Staff apprised of new materials available for patron use
- Serving in a Help Desk capacity to resolve ebook or ejournal access issues experienced by any Library employee or patron
- Engaging in ongoing, proactive campaigns in copyright education for all Library patrons (students, faculty, staff, community members, and alumni) who utilize materials licensed by the Sherman Cohn Library
- Tracking University use requests and responding to questions from the University’s faculty, students, and staff concerning their use of copyrighted materials
- Facilitating and encouraging open access models of scholarly communication and the creation and sharing of educational materials
- Working closely with the Director of Library Services on policies and procedures surrounding the collections within the digital repository
- Establishing, maintaining and entering the digital repository collections and managing the process of obtaining documents from designated University personnel
- Serving on or acting as a liaison to Online Learning, University Committees, Task Forces, or other groups associated with managing digital assets or using copyrighted work
- Monitoring and reporting on the access of print, ebook, and ejournal subscriptions, on copyright use requests, and on digital repository contributions and utilization
- Engaging in special project work as assigned
- Performing other duties as assigned
