Recent CUA LIS alum, Christian Minter and current student, Anita Kinney were featured online in the American Libraries Magazine for their outstanding presentation on Public Health and Public Libraries at the 2015 ALA Annual Conference last month.
Ms. Minter and Ms. Kinney’s presentation at the conference demonstrated the significant and positive impact libraries when it comes to improving health literacy due to their well-equipped space, technology and resources. The forum titled “Public Health and Public Libraries: Librarians as Health Literacy First Responders” included the CUA LIS student and alumna as panelists.
Ms. Minter and Ms. Kinney also presented at “Collaborating for a Healthier Community: An Unconference for Health and Information Professionals” at the Martin Luther King Library Memorial Library in D.C. earlier in June.
