Cataloging Monographs at the Franciscan Monastery – Opportunity for practical experience, Washington, DC

As part of the ongoing effort to improve the functioning of the library at the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land, we are seeking assistance in our current project: cataloging and shelving monographs.  We use Dewey Decimal Classification and house the monographs on the second floor of the library in the Friary.

As a graduate of the School of Library and Information Sciences at Catholic University, I know that many of the students there also have full-time jobs and believe this opportunity may be ideally suited to them or for anyone seeking practical experience in cataloging.  The time work would go from 6:30-10:30 AM.

For more information, please contact Karen Levenback, Archivist-Librarian, at              202-734-3866 or via e-mail atkaren@myfranciscan.com.

The Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land is located at 1400 Quincy Street, NE /Washington, DC 20017, not far from the Catholic University campus and the Brookland Metro and/or the H6 bus.
