Archival Specialist – U.S. House of Representatives, Washington, D.C.

Under the direction of the House Archivist, is responsible for archival services and programs related to the official records of the House, particularly electronic records. Provides expertise to House offices on electronic records management and works to ensure the preservation and transfer of official electronic and textual records to the National Archives and Records Administration.

M.L.I.S. with a focus in Archival Management or at least 5 years archival experience. Knowledge of the historical and potential research value of congressional records. High degree of analytical, research, and problem-solving skills and organizational ability. Detail-oriented with strong writing and communication skills. Willingness and demonstrated capacity to learn new approaches. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in fulfillment of responsibilities. Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant and professional manner. Must be competent in the operation of IBM-PC compatibles and be able to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
