Alumna Judith Russell (SLIS, 1968) to Receive NFAIS 2017 Miles Conrad Award at NFAIS Annual Conference

Judith Russell, Dean of the University of Florida’s Libraries, and alumna of the Catholic University of America’s School of Library and Information Science, has been selected to receive the 2017 Miles Conrad Award “in recognition of her significant achievements in librarianship and for her leadership in information services throughout a career spanning academia, government, the non-profit and private sectors,” according to the NFAIS Press Release.

The National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS™) is a global nonprofit membership organization serving the information services community. Dean Russell will be honored at the NFAIS 2017 Annual Conference in Alexandria, Virginia, where she will deliver the annual Miles Conrad Memorial Lecture on February 27th.

Dean Russell is the second consecutive award recipient with a CUA LIS connection. Last year, former CUA SLIS Dean Deanna Marcum was honored with the award and delivered the Miles Conrad Memorial Lecture at the NFAIS 2016 Annual Conference in Philadelphia.
