2017 Dr. Elizabeth W. Stone Lecture

The Library & Information Science Alumni Board cordially invites CUA alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends to the 2017 Dr. Elizabeth W. Stone Lecture.

Friday, March 31, 2017 at 6 p.m. Byron Auditorium, Room 204, Columbus School of Law Reception to follow in the Law School Cafe

This year’s guest will be Enoch Pratt Free Library Pennsylvania Avenue Branch Manager and 2016 ALA Lemony Snicket Award for Noble Librarians Faced with Adversity

Melanie Townsend Diggs “Being a ‘beacon of light’ in the face of adversity” The story of how the Enoch Pratt Free Library provided a community “Safe Haven” during the Baltimore riots and how that commitment impacted the community.

We will also be presenting the 2017 Raymond Von Dran Memorial Award to Mary Thomas for her contributions to the field of library and information science
